Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (2010)

Passed in response to the 2008 financial crisis, this act introduced regulations to enhance stability in the financial system. It established the CFPB to protect consumers and implemented the Volcker Rule to restrict speculative trading by banks.
